I have tried Zimbra. Y! works, but Zimbra is incredibly slow — probably due to Java. So without POP/IMAP access, yahoo is useless for me.

Yahoo! Mail does not support IMAP for any user. POP is available for free users in all countries except for USA. However, if you’re using the Zimbra Desktop client then you can read your mails in an email reader regardless of whether you have a free or Plus account. Also, Yahoo! has something called a Power User programme where those who have been using Yahoo! Mail for a long time get free upgrades.

Er, oops. IMAP and POP are not available. I though (dunno why) that you’re talking about accessing Yahoo! Mail via mobile web.
POP is for Plus users, that is confirmed. Don’t think any IMAP support is there.

I don’t use POP when I have an option of IMAP. I have tried checking all options/setting/preferences or anything faintly similar to find/enable the IMAP access.
I don’t even know the IMAP servers URI. Can you pass it to me?

BTW isn’t it a joke that they are giving IMAP to free users and POP to plus users?

Impossible. I use IMAP everyday in Yahoo! And POP is available only to Plus users. Thanks for pointing that out. BTW, who uses POP?

The biggest problem with Yahoo as of now is that there is no IMAP/POP. I don’t know whether it exists in other’s account or not. I have been using Y! since 2003 and still don’t have IMAP/POP and automatic mail forwarding.

Even I liked that calendar. Yahoo! even mails us about events to happen the next day, or according to settings.
Didn’t know about that Power User programme. Thats really nice. How long have you been using Yahoo! to get that?

I also like the calendar timeline at the bottom of the mail window. I don’t need to leave the main Yahoo! Mail interface for that either.

BTW, Yahoo! Mail has something called a Power User programme. If you use Yahoo! Mail for a long time, then they upgrade you for free and give you some Mail Plus features. For example, I get no ads served in my mail.
